The Forever Young Club is proud to be sponsoring the 2nd annual Forever Young 8K. There are many senior (55+) walkers and runners in our communities. This event is a chance for them to gain well-deserved recognition for their commitment to fitness. The Forever Young 8K celebrates active seniors, setting an example to encourage all seniors to adopt a healthy lifestyle. We don’t want to be a small part of a big running event – we want to have our own running event! The finishers last year could not have been more proud of their medals and event T-shirts, symbols of their physical accomplishments. Register now for a chance to wear yours in 2016.
The Forever Young 8K is a Not for Profit event. Our charity of choice is the Dream On Seniors Wish Foundation.
The Forever Young 8K is sanctioned by BC Athletics.
The walk/run will start at scenic Garry Point Park just west of Steveston Village in Richmond. After the run/walk take time to explore historic Steveston. Have a seafood lunch, tour the docks for a fresh salmon and walk the streets where they film the TV hit “Once Upon a Time” in ‘Storybrooke, Maine’.
The route is out and back on the West Dyke parallel to the nature-rich corridor of Sturgeon Banks. You will pass water stations at four locations on the route and volunteers will be cheering the participants at each Kilometre marker. The dyke course is flat and consists of compact gravel.
The walk/run begins 16 days ago
